Kindergarten Orientation
Orientation information
Children need to turn five years old before 31 July 2024. When you enrol, we need the following original documents (not photocopies please):
- Child’s proof of date of birth. (example Birth Certificate, Passport)
- Parent’s Passport or Citizenship papers (if born overseas)
- Child’s immunisation records
- Proof of residential address (example council rates notice, telephone or electricity account)
Why enrol for Kindergarten at Cooma North Public School?
Our Kindergarten classes have:
- 20 students on average in each class
- An interactive SmartBoard in every room
- A comprehensive teaching program based on the latest best practices which focuses on Best Start, Early Intervention in Literacy, Numeracy and social skills
- A new playground
- STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) lessons including robotics and coding
- Music lessons
What happens once I enrol my child for Kindergarten?
You will attend a Kindergarten orientation program which consists of
- Visits to this year’s Kindergarten classrooms by new parents and children.
- Meeting their "Big Buddy" who will support them through the beginning of their learning journey both socially and emotionally.
- An information session about starting school and what we have on offer.
- Talks and displays to new parents by our Principal, teachers and our school’s Parents and Citizens Association about policies and organisation, teaching programs and Technology demonstrations.
